Ratings and Comments
Exterior – 3/5
Nothing special here.
Interior – 3.5/5
The interior layout is quite spacious. My main gripe is that most of the seats are countertop-style, meaning you’ll sit side-by-side with other diners. There are a few standard tables along the entrance wall, but that’s about it.
Menu/Price – 3.5/5
The menu offers great diversity, which I really appreciated. There’s a wide variety of udon bowls (with three different serving sizes), an oden station, various tempura options, drinks ranging from beer to soda to tea, and several rice ball choices as well. The pricing is fantastic! I had a medium-sized bowl of kitsune udon and a single sweet potato tempura, and the total came out to just $5.50.
Drinks – 3/5
The drink section is fairly simple, with beer, tea, and water. It does the job, but nothing beyond that. The pricing is reasonable, though.
Food – 3.5/5
I had a medium-sized bowl of #3, or “kitsune udon” (udon topped with an inari age, which is fried and seasoned tofu). I also tried a sweet potato tempura. The udon noodles were slightly overcooked, but still chewy and enjoyable. The broth was light yet flavorful, as expected for udon, and the inari age was delicious. The sweet potato tempura was a bit dry, but at least it was nice and crispy.
Staff – 3.5/5
After ordering and paying, there was little interaction with the staff. However, I do want to give a shout-out to the kind girl who made my udon and handled the cashier duties as well. She was running the show alone for a while and spoke enough English to make the interaction smooth and easy.
Restroom – 2.5/5
The restroom is functional, but when I visited, it wasn’t in the best state.
Conclusion – 3/5
Overall, it was a pleasant meal, and for the affordable total of 867 yen ($5.54), I was very satisfied. The great value is definitely what will keep me coming back.
